Services: Details and Pricing

My goal is to provide affordable services for small businesses and hobbyists. However, I understand that "affordable" is a relative term these days... basically, I am capable of working with a small budget. Just let me know what you think you can afford and we can work something out. However, you should keep in mind that quality work takes time. If you're looking for cheap labor, expect cheap quality. There are many other web designers capable of providing this service for you, but that's not what I do.

Please note that 25% of the total project cost must be paid (via Paypal) before project begins and only after the project has been thoroughly discussed and an agreement has been made. This is to protect myself as a designer.

The following is a list of services that I offer:

1. SMF Theme Design

Full theme design for SMF 1.1.x or SMF 2.0 RC3, which includes:

  • Integrated graphics and tableless layout
  • Design or insertion of website header
  • Complete set of original buttons and icons
  • ...pretty much everything involved in a custom SMF theme.

Cost: $500

Project completion rate: 2-3 weeks

2. Simple Website Design

Full basic website design including index and 5 custom pages.

  • Custom graphics and layout design
  • Conversion to W3C Valid XHTML 1.1/CSS 2 tableless layout or
  • Conversion to W3C Valid XHTML 1.1/CSS 2 layout and Dreamweaver template system
  • $35 for each additional page

Cost: $1,000

Project completion rate: 3-4 weeks

3. HTML/XHTML and CSS Editing and Correction

Often times, messy or lazy HTML/CSS designers will leave behind a trail of incomplete or poorly coded design which result in browser incompatibility and lowered performance. In order to get your website running smoothly, I can perform the following corrections:

  • Converting bulky HTML coding to CSS
  • Conforming code to the latest W3C XHTML strict/transitional standards
  • Ensuring website displays correct in the latest versions of IE, Opera, FF, Safari, and Chrome.
  • ...basically whatever it takes to clean up somebody else's mess.

4. Template design for CMS

I am able to create custom designs for sites with various open-source CMS such as Maian Recipe, oscommerce, zencart, etc. Customization includes:

  • Creation/Implementation of company logo and header
  • Full template design
  • Example designs for category and subcategory pages
  • ...pretty much full cuztomization of any pages that your visitors will be viewing.

5. Website Maintenance

This is pretty straightforward. If you need updates to your site on a daily, weekly, monthly or even bi-yearly basis, I may be able to do it for you. I can perform the following:

  • Update/publish content or products using either your CMS, Dreamweaver template system, or by manual input (file editing and direct FTP upload)
  • Moderate comments or member content
  • Make new graphics/images to compliment changing/new site content
  • ...perform other miscellaneous, scheduled tasks.

Cost: $15/hr, minimum 1hr of work. Expected hourly need (say, 2 hours for the week) must be paid upfront. A refund will be given for any remaining prepaid time. If the time worked is greater than time expected, unpaid balance (how much I am owed in addition to what you already paid) must be paid before any more tasks can be completed.
